The African eDevelopment Resource Centre has announced new courses in the communication portfolio starting this quarter. The courses are designed to equip engineers in the field with the latest skills to be able to deploy efficient and cost effective communication networks.

According to the Head of Curriculum, who is also a Director of the Centre, Mr. Andrew Karanja, this development is in line with the Centre’s objective of making sure that Africa develops all the skills it requires to develop through ICT. “We keep on adding new courses in tandem with the technology trends and development,” Mr. Karanja said.

The new courses will include GSM/WCDMA Core Network Planning and Optimisation, GSM/WCDMA Transmission Network Planning and Optimisation, GSM/WCDMA Radio Planning and Network Optimisation and a full bouquet of Wimax Forum Certified courses. These include, Wimax Forum Core Network Certification Bootcamp and Wimax Forum RF Certication Bootcamp. The GSM courses will be rolled out in partnership with Telehorizon Telecommunication Limited while the Wimax courses will be in partnership with the Cavell Group.
