Organizations and individuals have records! Business offices, government agencies, non-profit groups, educational institutions, and medical facilities-just to name a few-must deal with enormous amounts of records on a daily basis. The days of paper records are soon past the electronic office is becoming the only way to keep up. Tracking, storing, retrieving, and disposing of electronic information is demanding more rigorous standards and assurances, challenges therefore have intensified as the transition from paper to electronic-based records becomes more demanding.

The Course will provide participants with both a theoretical and practical understanding of the key concepts of Electronic Records Management. This Electronics Records Management course will give a basic overview of records management terminology, concepts, and procedures to successfully manage records in today's offices.

Course Objectives


The Course will seek to answer frequently asked questions such as what is an electronic record? How do you effectively store and achieve electronic records? How can you move your records from paper format to electronic format? What are the issues around records stored on paper, in an electronic format, in a microform? How is a Electronic Records Inventory conducted? What are the steps in the development of an Organizations Electronic Records Retention Schedule? This course will assist participants in making those decisions based upon certain characteristics of the records.

The Electronic Records Management Course will cover areas such us:
